Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Position Summary: Oversee operations of an ambulatory care department; supervises employees directly and is responsible for solving most of the problems arising for assigned clinical team. Supervises and evaluates of clinical care team in collaboration with Practice Leader, including but not limited to staff development, daily staff assignment of patient care, ensuring adequate equipment and supplies inventory control, quality assessment and improvement, customer service strategies, assistance with performance evaluations, implementing Mercy Health operational plans, and intra- and inter-departmental communication as well as liaison with medical staff and sales representatives. Follows and supports Mercy Health professional nursing standards of care and Professional Practice Model and Shared Governance Structure and Processes. Direct reports include Registered Nurses and clinical support staff in assigned practice.

What the Ambulatory Nurse Supervisor will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). Preferred: Masters in Nursing.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in state of Michigan Preferred: Certified in Specialty; as per specialty

  • Minimum: Three years nursing experience for similar patient populations. Progressive experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, supervising personnel and problem solving of unit or organizational issues. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and deal with stresses associated with a patient care environment such as emergencies, time pressures, varying patient emotions/attitudes/conditions,
