Full job description

Job Title: Print Production Level 3

Location: Mid-town Manhattan, NY

Job Type: Hourly Consultant

Hours: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Second Shift; overtime available

Pay: $24.00–$29.00/hr

Essential Functions:

  • Operate high-volume digital, color, print, copy, scan, binding, folding, inserting, laminating, cutting, and finishing equipment.

  • Process, schedule, track, and distribute high-volume print production jobs.

  • Review customer files for fonts, image resolution, registration, formatting, and other production issues.

  • Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production runs.

  • Receive, review, electronically log, index, convert, scan, store, and back up customer jobs.

  • Integrate variable data into templates and optimize document design for quality reproduction.

  • Provide customer service and interact professionally with staff, clients, and management.

  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues; coordinate with service personnel and third-party vendors as needed.

  • Perform equipment maintenance, collect meter reads, maintain production/billing logs, and manage supplies.

  • Apply asset tags and update databases; track office equipment moves, additions, and changes.

  • Provide basic end-user equipment training and assist with process improvements and templates.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

  • Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Skills:

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of PCs, email, file management, network devices, printers, and web applications.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, sort/filter data, create graphs, and import/export information.

  • Basic math, data entry, file conversion, scanning, and document management skills.

  • Strong customer service, communication, organization, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to coach and mentor coworkers.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in high-volume print production, binding, and scanning.

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.

  • Experience operating high-volume digital/color printers, copiers, scanners, and finishing equipment.

  • Experience with print production workflow, quality control, document preparation, and electronic file management.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Post-high school technology training or equivalent technical experience required.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
