Accounting Manager

Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong interim Accounting maanager to support our hospitality client in West Hollywood to help prepare for two upcoming audits. This role will focus on strengthening balance sheet integrity, resolving accounting issues, and organizing documentation ahead of upcoming audits. The ideal candidate brings deep reconciliation expertise, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead thorough reviews of balance sheet accounts to confirm accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.

• Examine aging reconciling items, determine root causes, and drive timely resolution of outstanding discrepancies.

• Oversee reconciliations for numerous bank accounts, ensuring cash activity is accurately recorded and supported.

• Evaluate intercompany balances across multiple entities and align account activity to eliminate mismatches.

• Investigate accounts that do not tie out and implement corrective entries or supporting analysis as needed.

• Assess key areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, leases, accruals, and other balance sheet categories for accuracy.

• Develop organized audit schedules and compile supporting records to facilitate external audit requests.

• Highlight risks that could delay audit progress and recommend practical steps to improve financial readiness.

Requirements • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of complex balance sheet activity.

• Demonstrated success with account reconciliations, account cleanup projects, and general ledger analysis.

• Prior experience preparing for external audits and providing documentation to auditors.

• Strong understanding of intercompany accounting and multi-entity reconciliation processes.

• Ability to independently research variances, identify underlying issues, and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Background in hospitality, hotel, entertainment, live events, restaurant, retail, or franchise environments is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in month-end close, journal entries, financial statement audit support, and balance sheet review activities.
