Description
We are looking for an experienced litigation attorney to join a Long-term Contract engagement supporting a busy practice in Century City, California. This opportunity offers immediate involvement in complex disputes, including matters that may touch on maritime issues, with meaningful ownership of casework and strategy. The role is well suited for a California-licensed attorney who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can balance independent execution with close collaboration across the litigation team.
Responsibilities:

Oversee contested matters through each phase of litigation, from initial case assessment to resolution.

Prepare persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal filings with a high level of accuracy and strategic focus.

Perform in-depth legal research and evaluate case developments to support recommendations and litigation planning.

Manage discovery efforts, including drafting written discovery, reviewing responses, and helping coordinate depositions.

Partner with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to maintain clear communication and move matters forward efficiently.

Contribute to trial readiness by organizing case materials, developing arguments, and supporting upcoming hearing and trial activity.

Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative professionals to align on deadlines, filings, and overall case strategy.

Handle sophisticated, high-exposure litigation assignments with substantial day-to-day responsibility and direct engagement in legal decision-making.
Requirements • Active membership in the California Bar is required.

At least 3 years of litigation experience, with 4 or more years strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience in civil litigation, with exposure to premises liability or insurance defense viewed favorably.

Background in personal injury matters is helpful, especially from the defense perspective.

Ability to draft motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other litigation documents effectively.

Strong legal research, writing, and case management capabilities are essential.

Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating productively within a legal team.

Interest in or familiarity with maritime-related litigation is a plus, though not mandatory.
