Location: Penn Presbyterian Medical Center

Hours: Part-Time

Summary:

  • The ED Registrar acts as the initial contact for patients and visitors to the Emergency Department. Registers patients in EPIC systems. Securing signatures on consent, authorization and financial agreement forms. Validates patient insurance information and ensures that billing information for technical and professional billing is complete and accurate

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and accurate registrations

  • Maintain clean and efficient workstation

  • 95% accuracy with EPIC

  • Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information, as well as verifying and validating insurance information

  • Generate medical record number and past medical record information for patient

  • Produces patient identification band

  • Proficient with downtime procedures

  • Periodically orients new personnel as required

  • Alerts management team to problems (i.e., mass casualties, etc.)

  • Performs other duties in area if responsibility as assigned.

  • Collects POS cash

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
