Human Resources Support Specialist - Journeyman

POSITION OVERVIEW
DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a junior Human Resources Support Specialist for a position supporting the Contingency Operations (CO) Department at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support in tracking human resource actions and activities related to recruitment (hiring and onboarding), retention, and awards programs for Civilians and Military.

Support the CO Department with honorary civilian awards, to include assisting with drafting, proofing, and submitting all documentation required into appropriate DTRA workflow platforms.

Perform complex tasks involving gathering, analyzing, and compiling data and information into well-written reports and presentations, to support senior leader decision making.

Maintain awareness of annual due outs, such as the Department's military evaluations, and assist with in processing and out-processing employees, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
-
Possess an active Secret security clearance
-
High School Diploma
-
5+ years' experience in professional Government-agency, military, or corporate experience human resource support
-
Strong experience in civilian hiring process whether CONUS or OCONUS, classified or not
-
Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.

Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.

Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., TEAMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree desired
