Purpose
Provides senior-level technical expertise, guidance, and strategic support for transportation projects and programs. Serves as a trusted advisor to project teams and clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality transportation solutions that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction

Serve as a technical authority and advisor for transportation planning, design, and project delivery.

Mentor and support engineers, planners, and project teams on best practices and technical approaches.
-
Contribute to strategic initiatives, business development efforts, and client relationship management.
At the Operational and Company Level
-
Provide technical review and oversight for transportation studies, designs, plans, and specifications.
-
Support pursuit activities, proposals, and client presentations with specialized transportation expertise.
-
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to inform company practices and project execution.
Do the Work
-
Advise on complex transportation engineering, planning, traffic, roadway, and multimodal projects.

Develop and review technical analyses, reports, designs, and recommendations.
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Support quality assurance and quality control efforts to ensure project excellence.

Recognized technical expert in transportation-related disciplines.

Delivers accurate, timely, and high-quality technical guidance.

Builds strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.

Demonstrates sound judgment in solving complex transportation challenges.

Maintains knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Planning, or a related field preferred. Commensurate experience considered in lieu of degree.

Fifteen or more (15+) years of progressively responsible transportation experience.
-
Strong knowledge of transportation design standards, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
-
Experience supporting major transportation infrastructure projects and programs.

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $40 - $60 per hour.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

Mobility around an office environment.

Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, and participate in governance reviews.

Occasional work beyond normal business hours may be required to support critical business initiatives, acquisitions, organizational transformations, or executive-level reporting deadlines.

Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
