Identify and remove operational roadblocks that may affect engineering productivity, schedules, or deliverables. 7. Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and long-term workforce development. 8. Promote continuous improvement, engineering excellence, and effective collaboration across technical disciplines. 9. Ensure engineering activities are aligned with organizational objectives, timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations. 10. Provide leadership and direction to experienced engineers while encouraging technical ownership and independent problem-solving. Qualifications & Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. 2. Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience, including responsibility for engineering employees, performance management, and professional development. 3. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, systems integration, verification, and validation. 5. Experience managing engineering resources, departmental workloads, schedules, and competing project priorities. 6. Ability to lead experienced technical professionals while maintaining a strong focus on coaching, mentorship, and employee development. 7. Strong communication, decis on-making, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. 8. Professional fluency in both French and English is required. 9. Ability to work onsite in Saint-Bruno three days per week. Preferred Experience 1. Previous leadership experience in rail transportation, aerospace, automotive, defence, or another highly regulated engineering industry. 2. Experience with complex products integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and control systems. 3. Familiarity with formal systems engineering methodologies and requirements management tools. 4. Experience supporting multiple engineering programs simultaneously. 5. OIQ membership or eligibility would be considered an asset. Railway industry experience is not mandatory. Candidates with strong engineering leadership experience from aerospace, automotive, defence, and other complex systems engineering environments are encouraged to apply.
