Full job description

This is Adyen Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster. About PX at Adyen Adyen PX (Product Experience) organization consists of a group of Full-Stack builders who own the end-to-end product discovery and execution from Research, Design, to Content perspective. We are at the forefront of building the future of payments, a rapidly changing industry. We approach projects as an opportunity to exceed our customers’ expectations - designing the right experiences, at the right time, the right way. We ensure that Adyen stays a leader and disruptor in the global payments industry by bringing the customers (whether shopper or business) into the center of our product and business decision making. About the team and role Join us in redefining the DevX (developer experience) at Adyen. As a Product Experiencer, you will work closely with PMs and Engineers to build Adyen's developer platform, which is how thousands of merchants integrate, configure, and scale their payments and financial products with us—and the quality of that integration experience directly shapes how fast and confidently our merchants grow. As our customers increasingly use AI-powered development tools, and as autonomous AI agents emerge as a new class of integrator, we are evolving this platform for an AI-native world. Our DevX organization drives this evolution across the modern developer ecosystem—from secure identity and access, API excellence, and real-time events, to next-generation documentation, integration observability, plugins, and agentic workflows. Together, we build the seamless, self-service developer frameworks that eliminate integration friction and empower the next generation of global builders. What you’ll do In this role, you will own the end-to-end user experience across Adyen’s developer platform. Your day-to-day responsibilities include: Discovery, Research & Strategy

  • Take ownership of broad, undefined problem spaces within the developer domain—defining problem statements, mapping end-to-end technical user journeys, and building strategic product visions.
  • Plan and conduct user research sessions with technical audiences (CTOs, developers, integration engineers) to translate complex technical constraints into human-centered solutions.
  • Balance the high information density required by technical users and financial controllers with intuitive, self-service usability.

Design & Execution

  • Design end-to-end developer touchpoints across the integration lifecycle—including interactive API reference docs, sandboxes, SDKs, webhooks, and developer dashboard tools.
  • Architect workflows that optimize for "Time to First Hello World" and seamless production go-lives, actively reducing cognitive load for integration engineers and solution architects.
  • Craft intuitive API mental models, parameter naming standards, and error-handling UX patterns in close collaboration with API architects and core engineering teams.
  • Design next-generation integration interfaces for AI-assisted development tools, code generation workflows, and autonomous agent-based integrations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner daily with Product, Engineering, and Data Analytics teams to shape tactical roadmaps and long-term product strategy.
  • Define design requirements, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and design specs to ensure smooth handoff and implementation with engineering.
  • Measure and optimize developer adoption and integration velocity through user metrics, feedback loops, and usability testing.

This is you

  • Experience & Background:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Product Design, HCI, Information Design, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience designing complex software solutions (preferably in B2B, SaaS, or developer-focused tools), with a proven portfolio simplifying technical workflows.

  • Technical Competencies & Domain Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of developer mental models, API design standards (ie REST, Webhooks), SDK structures, and code-based workflows. You can confidently read code snippets, inspect JSON payloads, and partner directly with software architects.

  • Familiarity with business banking, payments, or enterprise financial services. Comfort designing for data-dense surfaces and navigating regulatory/financial constraints.

  • Professional Mindsets & Attributes:

  • Ability to visualize the big picture, structure complex ecosystems, and maintain consistency and logic across multi-layered platforms.

  • You take personal ownership of customer success, hold yourself and your work to high standards, and actively mentor fellow team members to raise the overall design bar.

  • You adapt swiftly to shifting landscapes and turn complex, uncertain technical challenges into structured, actionable opportunities.

  • You focus on solving high-value problems that deliver measurable business and user impact, prioritizing pragmatic execution over non-essential iterations.

Total rewards & compensation The annual base salary range for this role is $201,600 - $302,400. Compensation is based on factors including qualifications, experience, and location.
