Full job description

ABOUT YOU

Are you an engineer or project manager with a passion for implementing sustainable water solutions to new projects? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where professionalism, accountability, and technical depth matter? Are you excited by opportunities to travel, engage with clients, and implement meaningful infrastructure solutions? If so, we’d love to meet you.

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in engineering or project management, preferably in private-sector water or wastewater treatment, biosolids, or process system integration. You bring strong communication skills, the ability to work in-office (Denver or Chicago), and a readiness to travel for project execution and industry events.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Overseeing the technical integration of mechanical or process systems, including chemical, membrane, biological, and AOP technologies, into light or heavy industrial sites.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to define scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Managing project execution: submittals, procurement, construction coordination, startup, and commissioning.

  • Leading client meetings, site visits, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Traveling (up to 40%) to active job sites, preconstruction meetings, or industry conferences.

  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and solutions during all phases of implementation.

  • Representing ARCO/Murray in the regional market through active involvement in professional organizations.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in engineering or project management, preferably within private-sector water, wastewater, or biosolids treatment projects.

  • Proven experience delivering and implementing treatment systems into industrial or municipal facilities, with specific experience in:

  • Large-scale membrane-based treatment systems (e.g., UF, NF, RO)

  • Indirect potable reuse applications

  • Biological technologies (e.g. SBR, MBR, MBBR)

  • SCADA and BAS/PLC systems integration for process control and automation

  • Familiarity with project permitting processes and environmental compliance at local, state, and federal levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through all phases—from preliminary design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Willingness to work from our Denver or Chicago office and travel up to 40% for site work and industry events.

  • Strong technical foundation in chemical, biological, membrane, and AOP treatment systems.

  • Effective communication, technical writing, leadership, and time-management skills.

  • EIT certification or PE license is preferred.

  • Proficiency with project software tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Salesforce, and Revit.

  • Additional familiarity with LEED or other sustainability frameworks is a plus.
