As an AI and Data Science Engineer III on the AI & Data team, you will be responsible for...

Supporting the design, development, and deployment of data science and analytics solutions for government and public sector clients

Performing entity resolution across datasets by identifying, matching, and consolidating records that refer to the same real-world entities
-
Training, tuning, and validating supervised and unsupervised machine learning models that produce case-level risk scores from structured inputs

Engineering and analyzing features from structured and unstructured data to support model performance and downstream risk analysis
-
Collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and project teams to deliver sprint commitments, resolve blockers, and support client-facing deliverables

Qualifications
Required:
-
2+ years of applied data science experience
-
4+ years of experience using Python and Structured Query Language (SQL) with structured and unstructured data
-
4+ years of experience performing entity resolution or record linkage using deterministic and probabilistic matching techniques
-
4+ years of experience training, tuning, and validating supervised and unsupervised machine learning models that generate risk or propensity scores from structured inputs
-
Current Top Secret (TS) clearance
-
Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
-
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
-
Experience engineering features from resolved entity, case, or transactional data
-
Experience selecting algorithms for classification, regression, or anomaly detection use cases
-
Experience evaluating model performance against defined metrics and acceptance criteria
-
Experience working with case-level risk detection, fraud detection, or investigative analytics use cases
-
Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including sprint-based delivery and backlog refinement
-
Experience communicating analytical findings, model behavior, and technical risks to technical and client stakeholders
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Virginia, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $131,000 to $218,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
