Salary: $60,245
The School of the Arts at Binghamton University seeks an experienced and versatile Audio-Visual Technician responsible for setting up and operating sound and video technologies for special events, as well as organizing and overseeing audio, photography and video content creation and management of events within the School of the Arts. In addition to providing audio-visual technical support for our highest profile and most representative events, this full-time permanent position will play a vital role in recording and archiving them. The role includes recording, editing, and preparing audio, photo, and video files into professional, presentable content for various platforms, including social media and online video archives.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide AV support for performances, and studio recordings, including setup and operation of audio-visual technology.

Technical Consulting: Work with the Director and Departments to assess technical needs and advise on equipment or process improvements.

Train and manage a team of paid audio, photo, and video students to assist with the collection and promotion of audio/visual content.

Video Filming and Editing: Capture high-quality video and audio at performances, studio recordings, presentations, and events, and edit files into polished content. This may also include live switching between multiple cameras during recordings or livestreams.

File Management: Organize and upload video and audio files, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.

Content Creation: Produce engaging audio, photo and video content for social media platforms.
Job Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years experience
-
Experience with audio, photography and video filming
-
Experience with audio recording of live music, both amplified and unamplified
-
Strong organizational skills to manage large quantities of video and audio files
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
-
AV Tech experience - the ability to set up and advise SOAR departments and Museum on AV needs in performance, rehearsal, and teaching spaces
-
Proficiency in video and sound editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, DaVinci, AVID, ProTools, Logic, Ableton)

Must be able to handle and lift 50 pounds, and work at heights

This position will include nights and weekends, dependent on operations

Submission of a portfolio including audio, photography, and video examples
Preferred:
-
Familiarity with social media platforms and video/audio content strategies

Experience with lighting design
