Full job description

Job Duties:

  • The CWS Case Worker Assistant provides services to remedy abuse, neglect, exploitations or self-neglect of adults or children unable to protect themselves. Human Service Specialist will assist Human Services Specialist II with providing casework service in the areas of Assessment, Family Preservation, and Foster Care.

  • Provides or arranges transportation to resources in the community as a part of social service aide plan.

  • Assists with other administrative support functions to include drafting correspondence, copy, faxing, emailing, etc.

  • Makes referrals to service providers, family group conferencing, CLEAR search, CFRPS and other referrals needed.

  • Participates as a member of a professional team to plan services for clients.

  • Assists in transportation of children.

  • Makes request for educational, medical, dental, law enforcement record, etc.

  • Assists with child and family visitation and teach appropriate parenting and household management skills.

  • Makes referrals io service providers, family group conferencing, Seneca search, etc.

  • Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed of. Protects agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment, and data.

  • Performs shelter / emergency response duties when needed as directed.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

High School Diploma and one (1) year or more of child welfare relevant program experience.

Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for all or part of the work requirements. This application for employment with the SC Department of Social Services must be completed in its entirety. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to and be able to operate a motor vehicle. Individuals must comply with necessary field work assignments.
