The K-12 Attendance Interventionist plays a critical role in supporting student success by promoting regular school attendance and addressing barriers that may prevent students from fully engaging in their education. Through early identification, proactive intervention, and strong family partnerships, this position helps students improve attendance, enhance academic achievement, and strengthen overall well-being. Working within the unique cultural context of the Hannahville community, the Attendance Interventionist utilizes a student-centered and culturally responsive approach to support students and families while honoring tribal values, traditions, and community strengths. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ### Essential Duties and Responsibilities #### Student Attendance Support - Monitor student attendance data and identify attendance concerns early. - Provide individualized case management services for students experiencing chronic absenteeism or attendance-related challenges. - Develop and implement attendance intervention plans tailored to student and family needs. - Track student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies. #### Family Engagement - Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians to promote the importance of consistent school attendance. - Conduct outreach and maintain regular communication with families regarding attendance concerns and available support services. - Educate students and families about the connection between attendance, academic achievement, and long-term success. #### Collaboration and Resource Coordination - Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school staff, tribal departments, and community agencies to identify and address barriers to attendance. - Connect students and families to appropriate resources and services, including support for: - Transportation challenges - Housing instability - Physical and behavioral health needs - Mental wellness concerns - Family and social challenges - Serve as an advocate for students and families within school and community settings. #### Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential records of all student, family, and service-provider interactions. - Document intervention activities, outcomes, and student progress. - Prepare reports and attendance data summaries as requested.
