Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Materials cost analyst. Candidates will be they're heavily focused on material costs, procurement spending, inventory, pricing trends, and vendor performance. Candidates will be expected to compare pricing of varies materials and be able to determine which is the most efficient for the project.

  • Track and analyze construction material costs against project budgets.
  • Monitor purchase orders, invoices, and vendor pricing to identify cost variances and savings opportunities.
  • Forecast material spending based on project schedules and demand.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and vendors to support budgeting and purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and budget-vs.-actual analyses for leadership.
  • Track inventory levels and material usage to minimize waste and ensure project needs are met.
  • Identify cost trends and recommend process improvements to improve project profitability.

PR- 30-35/hr

Skills and Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in cost analysis, project controls, procurement, construction accounting, or budgeting/forecasting in the construction industry
  • Strong experience with:
  • Cost tracking and variance analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Procurement and vendor management
  • Inventory management
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting, dashboards).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar.
  • Understanding of construction materials, purchasing processes, and project budgets.
  • Ability to collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, finance, operations, and vendors.
  • Power BI or Tableau
  • Process improvement/Lean experience
  • Large-scale construction, manufacturing, or data center project experience
  • Commodity pricing or supply chain analysis experience
