Job Description Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Architect to help lead a large-scale modernization initiative for our Revenue Management & Pricing Analytics platform. This role will support legacy system migrations to dbt-core and Snowflake, modernization of legacy tooling into modern web applications, and restructuring existing dbt models into a medallion architecture. The Senior Architect will design solutions aligned with enterprise data architecture standards and help define new patterns where standards need to evolve. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable infrastructure, data pipelines, deployment patterns, and reusable frameworks that can be adopted across the broader organization.
Principle Responsibilities
-
Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end technical solutions for the platform modernization initiative, ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.
-
Standards and Governance: Apply existing architecture standards where appropriate and define new patterns where gaps exist, such as Streamlit application deployment and CI/CD practices.
-
Cloud and Infrastructure as Code: Design and build modular, multi-environment AWS infrastructure using Terraform to support computing, storage, and orchestration needs.
-
CI/CD Engineering: Build and maintain reusable, secure deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions for data pipelines and application deployments.
-
Monitoring & Observability: Design monitoring, auditing, and alerting mechanisms across the pipeline and infrastructure to ensure reliability, traceability, and rapid issue detection.
-
Data Platform Modernization: Lead the technical approach for migrating legacy processes and Informatica PowerCenter/IICS to dbt-core and Snowflake while restructuring models into bronze, silver, and gold layers.
-
Documentation: Maintain clear architecture diagrams, design decisions, runbooks, and technical documentation for the platform, ensuring knowledge is accessible and current for engineers and stakeholders.
-
Technical Leadership: Review code and pull requests, participate in daily meetings, sprint ceremonies and shape deliverables, and serve as a technical escalation point across the modernization initiative.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in a senior data or software architecture role, with production experience across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and application development.
-
5+ years of experience with legacy ETL/ELT platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter or IICS, with the ability to analyze & translate existing mappings/workflows.
-
Strong hands-on experience with building/supporting dbt-core and Snowflake.
-
Experience with building components for medallion architecture, including bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
