This position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Caddo Parish Child Welfare office.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CORE COMPETENCIES:

- Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules and organizational policies.

PREFERREDCOMPETENCIES:
- Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.

- Displaying Professionalism: The ability to uphold workplace standards through consistent conduct, responsible communication and consideration for others.
Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:
- Responsible for payments in the Tracking Information Payment System
- Provide general clerical support to agency staff members
- Process all special board payments
- Serve as receptionist relief person as needed
- File maintenance of all records related to child welfare cases
- Process a large volume of payments to vendors and providers
Position-Specific Details: Location: This vacancy is located in the Caddo Parish Child Welfare Office in Shreveport, LA.
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Louisiana HB 420 requires all prospective DCFS employees to complete and clear multiple background clearances prior to employment with this agency.
