Position Description:
The Emergency Department NP/PA works collaboratively with Emergency Physicians and other ED NP/Pas. The ED NP/PA is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of medical services, including taking medical histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, administering treatments, monitoring patients, prescribing medications, assisting physicians, and counseling and educating patients.
Requirements:

Education/Certification/Licensure
-
Current NY State certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.

5 + years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant preferred but not required

BLS, ACLS, ATLS & PALS, completion of annual NIHSS and stroke CME
-
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role in an emergency.

Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches in area of expertise.

Demonstrated ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.

Annual CME allowance of $2,000

Tuition payment (but not travel/lodging expenses) for either EM Boot Camp or SEMPA Academy, and for the Difficult Airway course and basic sonography course

Registration Fees for ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS and infection control (Paid directly by CMP)

Dues Reimbursement: The renewal fee for NYS Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License Registration and DEA Certification are reimbursed to the employee by CMP.
Pay Range: $88,000.00 - $150,000.00 DOE
