Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager / C5ISR Cyber Lead for a top defense and military vehicle client. This individual will serve as a technical leader within the Cyber and C5ISR engineering organization, supporting the design, integration, testing, and compliance of advanced cyber capabilities across ground combat platforms. The role involves managing cyber architecture, system-level requirements, threat and risk assessments, verification activities, and cross-functional engineering efforts while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate combines strong systems engineering expertise with hands-on cyber security knowledge and defense industry experience to help drive the development of next-generation military platforms and technologies. Day-to-Day:

  • Lead cyber engineering activities supporting C5ISR systems on ground combat platforms
  • Coordinate cyber architecture, technology evaluation, testing, and compliance efforts
  • Manage system requirements, interfaces, specifications, and compliance documentation
  • Drive cyber security best practices, tools, and education across engineering teams
  • Conduct architecture trades, design studies, and structured engineering decisions
  • Support requirements decomposition and cross-functional integration activities
  • Oversee development and execution of verification and validation plans
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause corrective actions (RCCA), and issue resolution
  • Develop and review design artifacts, technical documentation, and CDRLs
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on system integration efforts
  • Evaluate emerging Cyber and C5ISR technologies for future vehicle programs
  • Participate in technical reviews, peer reviews, and design milestone activities

$60/hr to $62/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, related science, or equivalent experience/certifications

  • 5-10 years of engineering, cyber security, systems engineering, or military project experience

  • Experience leading technical development teams and cross-functional engineering efforts

  • Embedded systems cyber engineering experience

  • Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) experience

  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53 compliance frameworks

  • Experience developing and managing system-level cyber requirements

  • Experience with requirements management, system architecture, and systems integration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

  • Experience supporting defense, military, or government programs Plusses:

  • Military vehicle development and integration experience

  • Cyber warfare experience (offensive and/or defensive)

  • Experience with automotive embedded systems

  • Familiarity with electronic hardware troubleshooting and line replaceable units (LRUs)

  • Experience with cyber-physical systems security requirements

  • Strong software engineering and computer science background

  • Experience developing SSPs, POA&Ms, and related cybersecurity documentation

  • Familiarity with SWaP-C (Space, Weight, Power, Cooling) analysis

  • Experience with verification testing, RCCA, and troubleshooting activities

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)

  • Ability to work in and around military vehicles and pass ASR requirements
