About Stoa Stoa (YC S26) builds market infrastructure for AI compute and hardware. We are headquartered in San Francisco. About the Role You will price, quote and execute transactions across AI compute and hardware on Stoa's Compute Markets desk. You will cover counterparties on both sides of the market and develop the judgment behind the desk's decisions. Much of your time will be spent on the phone, including with counterparties entering this market for the first time. What You'll Do
- Price live requests, source counterparties, negotiate terms and close transactions.
- Build relationships across both sides of the market and become a counterparty's first call.
- Maintain the desk's view of prices, availability, lead times and counterparty credibility.
- Develop a detailed understanding of market structure and pricing dynamics across compute and hardware.
- Document the desk's methods to make decisions repeatable.
What We're Looking For
- Market judgment. You think in bids, offers and spreads, and recognize mispricing.
- Quantitative fluency. You reason quickly with numbers and verify them before acting.
- Clear communication and sound negotiation with institutional counterparties, in writing and on the phone.
- Decisiveness under uncertainty. You act on the information available and correct mistakes quickly.
- Ownership. You take responsibility for the work the desk needs.
- Curiosity about AI infrastructure and the economics of compute and hardware.
Requirements
- 1+ years on a trading, sales-trading, brokerage or markets desk in any asset class, or equivalent experience transacting in compute or hardware.
- A track record you can describe with numbers.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience in compute, GPU or data center hardware markets.
- A derivatives or commodities background.
- An existing network among neoclouds, dealers, data centers or institutional buyers.
Location: San Francisco. Remote candidates in US time zones are considered.
