Branch/Retail Banking Clerk

Description We are looking for a customer-focused banking team member to join a branch team in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This role supports daily teller activities while also helping clients identify banking solutions that fit their personal or small business needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling transactions accurately, building strong customer relationships, and contributing to branch growth through service and product awareness.

Responsibilities:

• Process routine banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers with a high degree of accuracy.

• Assist customers with account-related needs and provide ongoing support for existing banking relationships.

• Introduce appropriate deposit, lending, and other financial products to individual and small business clients based on their needs.

• Open new consumer accounts and guide customers through required documentation and account setup steps.

• Accept and prepare consumer loan application information in accordance with branch procedures and compliance standards.

• Maintain teller drawer balance, verify cash activity, and follow established controls for secure cash handling.

• Deliver high-quality in-branch service while also supporting outreach efforts that strengthen customer engagement beyond the branch.

• Ensure all transactions and customer interactions align with bank policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements. Requirements • Experience handling cash in a banking, retail banking, or similar transaction-based environment.

• Working knowledge of teller operations, bank deposits, and standard branch transaction processes.

• Ability to provide attentive customer service while identifying opportunities to recommend relevant banking products and services.

• Experience opening accounts or supporting account maintenance activities is preferred.

• Familiarity with consumer loan application intake or related banking support functions is an asset.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability when managing financial transactions.

• Ability to work a variable schedule based on branch operating needs.

• Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented approach when assisting individual and small business customers.
