Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support logistics operations in Ohio on a long-term contract. In this role, you will work closely with leaders and employees to strengthen workplace practices, address employee concerns, and guide people-related decisions that align with business goals. This position is ideal for someone who brings strong knowledge of employee relations, policy application, compliance, and performance support within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise site leadership on human resources practices, workplace policies, and employment regulations to support consistent and compliant decision-making.

  • Partner with managers and employees to address workplace concerns, improve engagement, and promote a productive employee experience.

  • Lead and document employee relations reviews, including internal complaints, misconduct matters, and other workplace investigations involving staff and management.

  • Analyze exit feedback and workforce trends, then present practical insights and recommendations to leadership teams.

  • Create and implement action plans that help the organization meet legal and policy obligations while maintaining accurate reporting.

  • Coordinate performance management activities such as review cycles, goal alignment, self-assessments, and manager evaluations.

  • Support talent initiatives by contributing to succession planning, employee development strategies, and hiring efforts for critical or specialized roles.

  • Collaborate with business leaders and internal partners on compensation, promotions, market adjustments, and benefits administration in line with company guidelines.

  • Identify organizational risks, staffing gaps, and workforce challenges, and recommend solutions that strengthen operational stability.

  • Contribute to broader regional HR programs and encourage consistent human resources practices across the operation. Requirements • At least 5 years of progressive human resources experience, including substantial exposure to business partner or generalist responsibilities.

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant HR experience preferred, with the ability to support complex employee relations matters independently.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations investigations, policy interpretation, and compliance-related activities.

  • Working knowledge of performance management processes, compensation practices, and HR administration in an operational setting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems, including experience with UKG Pro or similar platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach employees and leaders at multiple organizational levels.

  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive issues effectively in a fast-paced environment. TalentMatch®
