What you'll do...

Role summary:

The Senior Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, is responsible for performing comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair of food equipment and related systems to ensure operational safety and efficiency. This role involves diagnosing issues, managing parts inventory, coordinating contractors, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The position includes mentoring less-experienced associates and delivering hands-on training. The technician supports business continuity through timely response to critical needs and contributes to continuous improvement by collaborating with teams and adhering to company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.

About the team:

The Facility Services HVAC team is committed to maintaining HVAC systems across multiple locations to ensure optimal performance and comfort. Team members conduct preventive maintenance, including filter replacements and condenser cleaning, while following safety and operational standards. They work closely with management and facility operators to address service needs efficiently. Utilizing digital tools for scheduling and documentation, the team supports continuous improvement and reliable system operation. This group emphasizes precision, accountability, and clear communication to maintain the quality and safety of building environments.

What you'll do:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment and facility systems to ensure safety and functionality.

  • Diagnose issues using blueprints, manuals, and multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

  • Oversee and train less-experienced associates, providing hands-on instruction and safety training.

  • Manage work orders, parts inventory, and contractor relationships while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.

  • Operate and maintain powered equipment and company vehicles following safety protocols.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical business needs promptly.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of food equipment and related facility systems.

  • Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs for effective troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Experience training and mentoring less-experienced technicians through hands-on instruction and guidance.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination.

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations to ensure compliance and quality standards.

  • Capability to operate and inspect heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and efficiently

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards, teamwork, and continuous improvement fast-paced environment

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.

Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.

No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications...

Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
