Full job description

Clinical Team Lead Outpatient Orthopedics & Sports

Virginia Beach, VA | Part-Time or Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity

Help us build the kind of physical therapy practice you've always wanted to work in.

You're an excellent clinician, but treating patients is only part of what motivates you.

You notice where systems break down. You care about clinical consistency. You enjoy developing other clinicians, improving patient experiences, and turning good ideas into better processes.

You want to help build something excellent.

At Thrive Proactive Health , we're looking for an experienced Physical Therapist who combines strong clinical reasoning with the ability to lead, mentor, organize, and improve how a growing specialty practice operates.

We're an independently owned, multidisciplinary practice and Postural Restoration Certified Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Our clinical focus includes orthopedic, spine, sports, and movement-related rehabilitation. We believe great physical therapy requires thoughtful assessment, individualized treatment, objective reassessment, and strong relationships.

What makes this opportunity different

This isn't simply a clinical position with a leadership title.

You'll work directly with Thrive's founder and have the opportunity to help build our PT Playbook. Together we will shape:

  • Clinical standards, training, and consistency

  • PT and Care Team workflows

  • Mentorship and onboarding of clinicians

  • Patient engagement, continuity, and retention

  • Documentation and operational improvements

  • AI integrations

  • Hiring, interviewing, and team development

  • Clinical education and professional growth

Your responsibilities and decision-making authority will expand based on your experience, demonstrated competencies, and success in the role.

What we offer

  • Proposed starting PT compensation for this role is $45-60/hour , depending on experience, qualifications and responsibilities

  • Part-time and full-time opportunities

  • Protected leadership and administrative time based on assigned responsibilities

  • Potential performance-based leadership incentives, quarterly bonuses.

  • Potential sign on bonus, school loan assistance, or relocation assistance.

  • $3,000 annually in approved continuing education support for eligible PTs

  • PRI-centered clinical education and mentorship

  • Opportunities to help build new programs, workflows and systems

  • Collaboration with PTs, PTAs, exercise specialists, and other healthcare professionals

  • Health, dental, vision, PTO, and paid holiday benefits for eligible employees

  • A clinical environment focused on positive energy, mindset, thriving and sustainable growth.

Who we're looking for

  • Licensed Physical Therapist or eligible for Virginia licensure

  • Strong outpatient orthopedic, sport & spine clinical experience

  • Organized, dependable, analytical, and attentive to detail

  • Comfortable setting expectations and holding yourself accountable

  • Able to coach colleagues and communicate constructively

  • Interested in improving systems rather than simply identifying problems

  • Committed to individualized patient care

  • Interested in the whole body clinical reasoning, movement and educational principles of the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI).

  • PRI experience is welcome but not required. You must be willing to complete two approved PRI primary courses through an agreed professional-development pathway.

A great fit for someone who thinks:

I love patient care, but I also want to improve the way care is delivered.

Interested?

Apply and “Tell us about one clinical or operational process you helped improve. What was the problem, what did you change, and what happened?”

We'd love to learn how you think and what you're hoping to build next.
