Full job description

The Nurse Manager oversees daily nursing operations across all SHHC sites, ensuring nursing staff are supplied, skilled, and scheduled to best serve patients in alignment with SHHC’s mission.

This role combines hands-on patient care as a Registered Nurse with management responsibilities, including training, compliance, and policy oversight for both nurses and triage medical assistants. Must be able to travel to all SHHC sites as needed. Core Responsibilities

  • Champion quality patient care and ensure patient satisfaction.

  • Provide respectful, confidential, and effective communication with patients and staff.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and leadership on nurse recruitment.

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor nursing and triage medical assistant teams to promote accountability and high standards.

  • Develop, implement, and update standing orders, policies, and competency trainings.

  • Evaluate team members and identify professional development needs.

  • Maintain compliance with clinical best practices and relevant laws.

  • Participate in meetings and organizational initiatives as a partner in the management team.

  • Advocate for the Health Center and its mission in all interactions.

  • Perform clinical nursing duties (i.e., triage, patient follow-ups, documentation, immunization coordination) as part of the medical team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (MSN preferred)

  • Current Pennsylvania RN license

  • Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience in a clinical setting

  • Recent management experience in an outpatient environment

  • Experience in community or public health (preferred)

  • Current BLS certification

  • Willing to receive all CDC recommended vaccines

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and set clear expectations

  • Well-versed in current regulations and nursing practices
