Full job description
CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc is seeking a Water Resources & Resilience Engineer Professional Associate to work in Houston, TX and various unanticipated worksites in the US.
Responsibilities:
Develop equipment and sub-systems testing plan and lead testing activities for various mission critical drinking water facility equipment/systems by coordinating with owner, engineers, vendors, and contractors. Act as a construction manager, managing vendors and contractors to ensure work is being completed per specifications and standard on large scale water projects in the Houston area. Utilizing primavera P6 to analyze claims from the perspective of merit, cost and time impact and providing recommendations for acceptance/rejection based on various combinations of technical and non-technical factors. Analyzing robustness and resilience of the client’s various on-site assets in terms of extreme weather events and providing cost-effective recommendations for the same, to ensure future operational continuity. Work with various agencies, both federal and non-federal to conduct climate change impact assessments including sea level rise on infrastructure assets. Utilizing various internal and external tools including GIS tools, along with NOAA and FEMA developed ones to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities for a wide range of future climate scenarios. Utilizing the assessed vulnerabilities to develop planning and design level solutions which mitigate risk and increase the resilience of infrastructure assets to climate change. Researching and recommending various funding opportunities available like grants and low interest loans to help clients fund their climate resilient projects. Serving as the assistant project manager for various water projects of different complexity levels in the Houston area. As a planning engineer, collaborate with clients and various stakeholders within the Houston area to develop integrated water management plans for clients. This involves assessing the drinking water, waste/storm water systems along with identifying operational and data inefficiencies within the clients planning, design, construction, and operations units. These assessments will be utilized to recommend a resilient and holistic long term water management plan which integrates best practices and digital tools, both internal to Jacobs (intelligent O&M, dragonfly, argon et al.) as well as external to safeguard the water security of the client and surrounding areas.
Hybrid schedule is allowed.
TRAVEL: Up to 10% domestic travel to visit project sites.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related Water Resources occupation.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Expertise/ knowledge of: Analyzing drinking water plant assets from the perspective of extreme flooding and cold events and recommending measures to ensure they remain sufficiently protected from similar future events. Drinking water treatment plant and technical design experience in drinking water facilities especially for filtration. Construction management skills ranging across the entire lifecycle of a construction project- Preconstruction, estimating, scheduling, change management and closeout. Project management principles including client and sub-contractor management, project controls, staff planning, change management to water and resilience projects of various size and complexity. This includes experience in alternate delivery as well. SW Skills: CAD tools like AutoCAD; Info Works; Primavera P6; Project planning software like MS Project; Construction management software like Procore; Building Information Modeling tools like Autodesk Revit/ Navisworks; GIS tools like ArcGIS.
Must have Professional Engineer License.
