What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director of Design/University Architect, you will have the following responsibilities:

Review design and construction plans for construction and renovation projects to verify compliance with the university design standards, constructability, biddability, and applicable codes. Communicate identified discrepancies to U-M design managers.

Travel both on and off campus, to perform field verifications of existing conditions to inform plan reviews.

Participate in meetings, and training to maintain expertise and consult with peers and subject matter experts.
Required Qualifications*
-
Bachelor's degree in architectural, engineering or construction field or credentials showing successful completion of a certified skilled trade apprenticeship program.
-
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural, engineering, or construction industry.
-
Experience conducting detailed plan reviews, site inspections and preparing related reports.
-
Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, materials building standards, building codes, life safety, and accessibility.

Proficiency with standard computer applications and software programs.
-
Valid driver's license.
