Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:

The Human Resources Manager will lead and hands on routine functions of HR department to include Recruitment, Talent Management, Training, Employee Relations, HR policies, maintaining work culture and HR initiatives aligned with Safran Power Units (SPU) Toulouse HR and business unit strategy for both SPU San Diego and SPU Dallas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to implement HR programs and organization design.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and build strong partnership with local leadership team to align HR strategies with business objectives.

  • Recruiting efforts of both contractors and hires, behavioral interviews, job descriptions assessment, applicant tracking (eTalent), onboarding activities and affirmative action log.

  • Support day-to-day delivery of HR services and responding to employee/management questions related to HR policies and procedures.

  • Coach managers on Performance management conversations and documentation. Launch annual and mid-year performance reviews utilizing Success Factors Twist tool.

  • Conduct annual skills analysis, people review and succession planning.

  • Lead annual merit, bonus and out of cycle compensation assessments for client group.

  • Completion of HR metrics, key performance indicators and monthly and quarterly reports in addition to ad hoc reports when requested by Safran Power Units Toulouse.

  • Manage the annual training budget and review training requests and training needs.

  • Review Timecards via ADP vantage Time system bi-weekly and send report if needed, to Safran USA payroll department on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Responsible to review and approve payroll preview reports on a bi-weekly basis to ensure payroll accuracy.

  • Train managers and supervisors on HRIS tools and functionalities and HRMS Safran system, called SELIA.

  • Participate in monthly meetings hosted by Safran USA North America HR community.

  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and employee engagement.

  • Submit weekly highlights summary to SafranPU Toulouse France HR department.

  • Ensure the organization's compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

  • Participate in continuous monitoring of internal controls where necessary and ensure compliance.

Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience HR Generalist, business partner or manager role. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.

  • In depth knowledge of California state specific employment law and rules and experience providing consultative guidance to leaders.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

  • Excellent verbal and communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency with the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management system.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
