Tax Senior - Public

Description

We are looking for a Tax Senior to join a public accounting team in Lancaster, Massachusetts. This position focuses on preparing a range of tax filings for businesses and individuals while helping clients stay organized and on schedule throughout the tax cycle. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling assignments independently, communicating clearly with clients and colleagues, and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and individual taxpayers with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.

• Guide clients in gathering and organizing financial documentation so filings are submitted efficiently and within required deadlines.

• Analyze tax information to identify discrepancies, missing details, or items that require clarification before submission.

• Partner with colleagues to address bookkeeping concerns and work through more complex tax questions as they arise.

• Manage multiple engagements at once while meeting deadlines and maintaining consistent quality across assignments.

• Complete tax work with minimal oversight, applying current regulations and sound judgment to ensure compliance.

• Use UltraTax tax software to process returns, maintain supporting documentation, and support an efficient preparation workflow.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance/Related Field…MST, EA, or CPA a plus

• Minimum 3 years of tax preparation experience with individual and business returns (non-profit a plus)

• Experience with UltraTax Software desired

• Experience in tax resolution and IRS representation

• Good resume with limited movement

• Experience in bookkeeping a plus

• Strong analytical, organizational, and client service skills
