Full job description

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric plastic surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons or foreign equivalent. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

The next Division Chief will lead one of the largest and most successful pediatric plastic surgery programs in the nation and will be expected to participate in patient care, teaching, and scholarship. The Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery is comprised of over 12 faculty and attending physicians with diverse clinical, educational, and investigative interests.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient or outpatient services at CHOP’s Main campus, King of Prussia campus and other sites. The Division leads multiple robust outpatient clinical programs, providing care in almost 16,000 patient outpatient encounters per year.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of clinical and/or basic science research related to plastic surgery.

The successful candidate will serve as Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where the clinical practice will be focused.
