Full job description

About Kiddom Kiddom is transforming K–12 education by bringing high-quality curriculum, instructional tools, and student analytics together in one coherent system. We are building Learning Intelligence Technology (LIT), a new category that gives educators the infrastructure to plan, teach, assess, and respond to student needs. With Kiddom, educators spend less time managing administrative burden and more time delivering meaningful student instruction. Kiddom helps schools and districts deliver more equitable, effective, and adaptive learning experiences. ELA Content Manager, Curriculum Team · Reports to the Head of Curriculum Experience About the role The ELA Content Manager owns the quality of Kiddom's ELA programs, built on an OER Language Arts curriculum, across digital, lesson presentations, and print. You will adapt and extend the curriculum for state editions and adoptions, build supports for multilingual learners, keep courses accurate and current, and direct the contractors and vendors who help us work at scale. You will also define the AI-assisted workflows that let a small team produce and review more high-quality ELA content, faster, without lowering the bar. The people who thrive here are self-starters who like owning outcomes. You will partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering, and you will work directly with our curriculum partners.

What you will do

  • Adapt ELA content for state editions and adoptions, including standards extraction and crosswalks, alignment guides, content modifications, and the evidence that state reviewers, EdReports, and RFPs require

  • Own the instructional integrity of each program across digital, lesson presentations, and print, including book maps, tables of contents, teacher and student book structure, and review of vendor proofs

  • Create integrated and designated ELD supports at all three proficiency levels (Emerging, Expanding, and Bridging), aligned to the California ELD Standards and other state frameworks, along with supports for students with diverse needs

  • Keep live courses accurate: triage customer support tickets, fix broken links and media, run course QA with Kiddom's QA tools, and request republishes

  • Serve as the day-to-day content contact with our curriculum partner on content: log errata and adoption queries, track file deliveries, and coordinate content changes that require partner approval.

  • Scope, brief, assign, and review work for contractors and vendors (for example, file extraction, slide production, and QA), estimate hours, and track progress against budget

  • Define, prototype, and run AI-assisted workflows, including Claude skills, scripts, and multi-step pipelines, for standards extraction and crosswalks, ELD support generation, slide production, content extraction from source files, and QA triage, with human review built in where accuracy matters most

  • Author and edit ELA lessons, interactive question types, and lesson presentations directly in the Kiddom platform, and set protocols for the instructional and visual design of lesson presentations

  • Author and edit supplemental resources aligned to existing curriculum, including reading, writing, language, and foundational skills supports

  • Think like a product owner: define the teacher and student problem, write clear goals for new content features, prototype solutions, and use usage data and educator feedback to decide what to work next.

  • Join customer calls with Product Managers and bring classroom insight into product decisions.

  • Manage your projects in Jira, keep project briefs and timelines current, and report progress, risks, and changes on a regular cadence

  • Troubleshoot and solve problems when work falls outside our usual processes, and take on other tasks needed to meet project deadlines

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years of K–12 ELA classroom teaching experience

  • 3+ years of instructional design or curriculum development experience for ELA, with experience in digital products or technology integration

  • Experience writing K–8 ELA lessons, tasks, teacher notes, and supplemental materials, including foundational skills and the science of reading

  • Experience with EL Education or another core ELA curriculum, such as Amplify ELA or Into Reading

  • Understanding of student-centered, text-based, knowledge-building ELA instruction, and of explicit, systematic instruction

  • A product-forward mindset: comfort with ambiguity, a bias toward shipping and iterating, and the ability to connect content decisions to user outcomes

  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools in daily content work: you have built repeatable workflows, not only written prompts

  • Comfort working directly in content systems: bulk edits, file and link management, spreadsheets, and simple scripts

  • Strong project management: you can run several state editions at once, scope work for contractors, and keep documentation current

  • Strong empathy for educators and a passion for improving education equitably

  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once

  • Creative problem-solving and strong written communication

Preferred

  • Experience building advanced, agentic AI workflows for content development, such as automating multi-step drafting, alignment, and QA across large sets of lessons, or working comfortably in command-line and agent-based environments

  • Experience developing curriculum for California, including working knowledge of the California ELA/ELD standards, framework, and instructional materials adoption process

  • Experience creating integrated and designated ELD supports

  • Experience preparing materials for state adoption reviews, EdReports, or RFPs

  • Experience with print production for instructional materials, such as book structure, proofs, or work with print vendors

  • Experience running scripting, such as Google Apps Script or Python, for content operations

  • Experience managing contractors or leading projects at professional scale

Compensation Base salary range: $70,000–$90,000. What we offer

  • Full time permanent employees are eligible for the following benefits from their first day of employment:

  • Competitive salary

  • Meaningful equity

  • Health insurance benefits: medical (various PPO/HMO/HSA plans), dental, vision, disability and life insurance

  • 401k plan

  • One Medical membership (in participating locations)

  • Flexible vacation time policy (subject to internal approval). Average use 4 weeks off per year.

  • 10 paid sick days per year (pro rated depending on start date)

  • Paid holidays

  • Paid bereavement leave

  • Paid family leave after birth/adoption. Minimum of 16 paid weeks for birthing parents, 10 weeks for caretaker parents. Meant to supplement benefits offered by State.

  • Commuter and FSA plans
