Full job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential support to pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to patients.

Every day you will expertly process prescriptions, compound medications, manage inventory, and meticulously assist patients with their inquiries, all while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a professional, patient-focused demeanor, contributing to safe medication practices and excellent patient care.

  • Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.

  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.

  • Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels

  • Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.

  • Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.

  • Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.

Job Requirements Required

  • High School Graduate, upon hire or

  • High School GED, upon hire and

  • 6 months compounding of IV medication

  • Pharmacy Technician: TX, upon hire and

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech ECPT, upon hire or

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech PTCB, upon hire or

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech, upon hire

St. Luke's Health–Sugar Land Hospital is a 100 bed facility serving residents of Fort Bend County and Southwest Houston. Our Family Birthing Center provides exceptional care in a spa-like setting, creating a VIP (Very Important Pregnancy) experience for growing families. Since opening in 2008, our dedicated team of physicians, nurses and support staff has proudly delivered expert, compassionate care to our community. Our services range from heart care and neuroscience to robotic surgery.

Pay Range

$25.50- $25.50/hour
