We have an exciting opportunity for a Scheduling Coordinator to join our company and support our Laurinburg/Maxton location. As a Scheduling Coordinator, you will be accountable for scheduling production runs, keeping production plans in front of the team, and the inventory of direct material needs at the site. You'll communicate with on-site Lab Operators, Warehouse Inventory & Logistics Coordinators, as well as the Site Leadership team on a day-to-day basis for location operational needs. You will also communicate daily with the Supply Chain team in Johnston, IA, as well as with teams at other locations and perform the duties of a Production Technician when needed.

Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

This role will be on-site at the Vylor location.

What You Will Do:

  • Utilize systems such as SAP/R3 as a fundamental basis of performing job

  • Provide coordination with customer service, Supply Team, and vendors using systems

  • Proactively plan to enable orders and services to be delivered on time

  • Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging while meeting production needs

  • Supply information to Sales Support and the Supply Chain Team regarding status of all order fulfillment activities

  • Work closely with production, field, maintenance, quality, and the Supply Chain Team to schedule and establish priorities of production POs

  • Coordinate production runs with inter-company schedulers to optimize network efficiencies and meet network on-time dates for Clockwork, Adaptive, and In-season schedules

  • Develop scheduling metrics and utilize problem solving tools to determine root cause of inefficiencies caused by scheduling

  • Lead teams on safety and quality documentation and provide training as needed to ensure adherence

  • Gather data for future aid in continuous improvement projects

  • Complete and maintain records in accordance with the Vylor Records Retention Policy

  • Various other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and one year of manufacturing/agriculture/customer service/shipping/logistics experience

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Stand and sit for extended periods

  • Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions

  • Lift up to 60 lbs.

  • Perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting

  • Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties

What makes you stand out:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management

  • 2-4 years of logistics, supply chain, production/operations, or other related planning and scheduling experience in lieu of formal education

  • Experience leading programs or processes

  • General agriculture knowledge and/or experience

  • Experience using SAP

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work
