Marana Detention Center | Marana, AZ

$ 91,520 per year | Full-time

Use your skills to oversee the overall management of security functions in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. You will directly supervise the lieutenants and gang intelligence officer.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate and direct the security functions for the facility.

  • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement organizational and personnel changes as approved by the deputy warden and coordinated with the manager, corporate human resources prior to implementation.

  • Assist the assistant facility administrator in the preparation of facility budget, monitor and control expenditures.

  • Develop and implement new and revised policies, procedures and programs affecting security.

  • Direct procedures and practices relating to the training and security of detainees and staff; maintain constant vigilance of staff assignments to ensure adherence to policies, rules and /regulations.

  • Supervise staff assignments for security functions.

  • Required to make regular rounds of the facility that requires long periods of walking and standing.

  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.

  • Perform functions of the duty officer as assigned. 10. Review report preparation for hearings and permanent records of detainees and monitor their rehabilitative prospects.

  • Assist in staff selection process, ensuring compliance with applicable local and federal regulations and MTC directives.

  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.

  • Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

What you will need

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Five years of experience in an adult correctional or detention facility or related field

  • US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire
