Position Description

Seeking a Junior AWS Production Support Engineer to provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support for business-critical systems running in AWS within a financial services environment. This role combines production support and troubleshooting with Python automation, SQL, monitoring, and application release support.

The engineer will monitor production and non-production applications, respond to alerts and incidents, review logs and metrics, and use the AWS Console and related monitoring tools to investigate application and infrastructure issues.

The role will also support SQL and database activities, application releases, batch processes, and basic automation of repetitive operational tasks.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who has practical AWS experience and wants to build deeper skills in cloud production support, automation, and financial market applications.

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 production support for AWS-hosted applications.

  • Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to engineering or Level 3 support teams.

  • Use SQL to support queries, database activities, batch processes, and operational troubleshooting.

  • Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive production support activities.

  • Assist with application releases and investigate failures within GitLab or comparable CI/CD pipelines.

  • Identify recurring operational issues and recommend automation or process improvements.

  • Document investigation results and maintain clear incident and support records.

  • Manage incident, problem, and change records using ServiceNow and Jira.

  • Learn application-specific procedures, dashboards, dependencies, and escalation paths.

  • Participate in production on-call coverage and support planned releases and after-hours incidents as needed.

Required Qualifications
