DESCRIPTION

Join our innovative team as a Senior Developer and make a meaningful impact on global science and healthcare. In this role, you'll design and develop sophisticated software solutions that contribute to improving health and environmental outcomes. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies across cloud platforms, data integration, AI/ML, and enterprise systems to deliver robust applications that power our essential operations.

Working in an agile environment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, implement and optimize solutions across various platforms including AWS, Azure, ServiceNow, and enterprise systems. You'll have the opportunity to drive technical innovation while supporting the growth of other developers and establishing best practices for software development excellence.

Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle – from gathering requirements and designing solutions to deployment and continuous improvement. Whether developing cloud applications, building and monitoring data pipelines, or building AI-powered features, you'll help shape the future of scientific technology while growing your career in serving science. You'll also be responsible for monitoring AWS costs to ensure efficient resource utilization and managing logging systems to maintain operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in software development and architecture

• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related technical field

• Relevant technical certifications are a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, ServiceNow)

• Strong expertise in one or more: Java, Python, JavaScript

• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native development

• Experience with databases and data modeling (SQL, NoSQL)

• Experience with Amazon Redshift and data warehousing solutions

• Experience building and monitoring data pipelines

• Proficiency in API development and integration (REST, SOAP, microservices)

• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control

• Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment

• Experience with logging systems and log management

• Expertise in agile development methodologies

• Experience with enterprise systems integration

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Experience guiding and supporting other developers

• Experience with AI/ML technologies and frameworks preferred

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team

• Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%)
