Full job description

As a Designer Intern, a typical day might include the following:

  • Create detailed physical and electrical designs, bills of materials, and job estimates under the technical supervision of an engineer.

  • Prepare AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings and associated project documentation.

  • Provide support to engineers and other support personnel within division.

  • Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.

  • Assist with designing relay equipment panels and racks.

  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.

  • Understand. Create. Simplify.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if:

  • Current student pursing a degree in EET, CAD, Drafting, or relevant discipline

  • Demonstrated competence in CADD drafting (AutoCAD and/or Microstation)

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL

  • Negative drug test result(s)

Pay Range Data

($21.00 - $22.50 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
