Job Title: AutoCAD DrafterJob Description
This role focuses on drafting and detailing wood and woodworking products using AutoCAD, creating precise models, drawings, and toolpaths that support CNC routing and machining operations. The AutoCAD Drafter collaborates closely with product engineering and CNC operators to ensure that customer parts and assemblies are accurately represented and ready for production.
Responsibilities

Create accurate models of customer parts and assemblies using AutoCAD, with a focus on wood and woodworking products.

Develop detailed part drawings that provide clear guidance for CNC operators and production teams.

Generate precise toolpaths for CNC routers and machining centers to support efficient and high-quality manufacturing.

Assist in maintaining and updating drawing files to ensure all documentation remains current and aligned with production needs.

Support product engineering activities by translating design concepts into detailed technical drawings and models.

Read and interpret complex drawings and technical documentation to ensure accurate execution of design requirements.

Collaborate with engineering, production, and CNC teams to resolve design questions and improve manufacturability of parts and assemblies.
Essential Skills
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fixture design.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D and/or 3D drafting and modeling.

Hands-on experience drafting wood and woodworking products.

Ability to create accurate models of customer parts and assemblies in AutoCAD.

Experience generating detailed part drawings for CNC operators.

Ability to create precise toolpaths for CNC routers and machining centers.
-
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings.

Knowledge of millwork and fixture design principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with CNC programming is a strong plus.

Background in millwork environments or woodworking manufacturing.

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in technical documentation.

Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with engineering and production teams.

Ability to manage and update drawing files in an organized and efficient manner.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position in a production-oriented environment that focuses on wood and woodworking products. You will work closely with engineering and CNC operations teams, using AutoCAD and related tools to support daily manufacturing activities. The role involves regular interaction with CNC routers and machining centers, and you will collaborate directly with CNC operators and product engineers to ensure drawings and toolpaths are accurate and production-ready. The work setting is fast-paced and detail-driven, with a strong emphasis on precision, clear communication, and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Forest Lake, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
