As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position serves as the Strategic Operations Director for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), providing executive leadership for organizational strategy, enterprise governance, strategic operations including but not limited to CSA Teaming, and cross-functional implementation.

This position is responsible for advancing executive priorities by establishing governance structures, driving organizational alignment, leading complex strategic initiatives, and ensuring coordinated execution across departmental administrations, program areas, and external partners.

The position serves as a senior advisor to executive leadership by providing strategic analysis, operational oversight, performance management, and executive decision support to strengthen organizational performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experience Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience. Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements. Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is the South Grand Building - 333 S. Grand Ave., Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including: o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions. o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
