Embedded Android Audio Engineer

Job Description

The engineer will be:

Working in the Android hardware/HAL layer Connecting lower-level audio components to higher-level Android services Supporting audio plumbing and integrations throughout the stack Working with audio routing, encoding/decoding, and AOSP audio architecture Debugging issues from hardware through framework layers Supporting Android applications that leverage audio capabilities, but primarily from the platform side

Skills and Requirements

3-5+ years of Android Audio experience Experience working within the Android Audio HAL layer Strong understanding of AudioFlinger, AOSP, audio encoding/decoding, and Android audio architecture Experience debugging issues across the stack (Framework → HAL → Hardware) Strong Linux / embedded Android development experience Android Automotive OS Google Automotive Services (GAS) ExoPlayer Jetpack Compose Automotive OEM experience (Rivian, Tesla, Ford, etc.)
