The OEM Cell Technician (TMS) is accountable for the assembly, peer inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical components and assemblies. The technician works under the direction of TMS Value Stream Management to build and test products according to specifications, troubleshoot and repair customer returned products and supplier parts, assist the engineering team in establishing best practices and procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift: 1st Shift (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)

Essential skills and equipment knowledge required for this position:

  1. Assemble and troubleshoot electronic components and chassis assemblies.

  2. Perform testing of components and electronic circuits using standard and specialized electronic test equipment following written and/or verbal instructions.

  3. Thorough understanding of electrical schematics, electronic circuits, data acquisition systems, process control systems, microprocessors, and automatic test equipment.

  4. Basic knowledge of flow meters, pressure gauges, and other fluidic system designs, including tubing and fittings.

  5. Hands-on experience with circuit board and component rework/modification (cuts, jumps, soldering, etc.) required. IPC 610, 620, J-STD, 7711/7721 certifications are preferred.

  6. Knowledge of ESD control systems, ESD procedures, and experience working within an ESD safe environment.

  7. General knowledge about PCB design and construction, troubleshooting.

  8. Familiarity with root cause corrective action investigations, and required analyses of electrical components and assemblies.

  9. Inspection duties may be required.

Specific responsibilities for this position:

  1. Assemble TMS product including chassis, pumps, heaters, etc. Troubleshoot and repairs of electronic components and machined parts.

  2. Perform peer inspections of assemblies and finished product built by other operators.

  3. Support engineering in nonconforming material disposition and trending.

  4. Support engineering on internal and supplier continuous improvement activities such as work instruction improvement, kaizens, and WIP management.

Qualifications:

  • Four years related experience, related trade or military training, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities including soldering, cuts, jumps, crimping.

  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.

  • Current IPC-610, 620, J-STD, 7711/7721 certifications are preferred.

  • Computer skills required

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

  • May be required to lift up to 35 lbs
