Summary:
This is professional level work involving the evaluation of patient disabilities, planning, and administration of physical therapy treatments. Incumbents complete documentation instruct patients, families, and students and participate in clinical program development and management. Work is performed under general supervision with all treatments being prescribed by a physician.
UNC Therapy Services' orthopedics program is seeking a per diem physical therapist to join our high performing team. Our clinic provides one-on-one therapy sessions and cares for patients of all ages, addressing a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, dysfunctions, and post-surgical needs. Applicants must be able to deliver high-quality care for sports injuries, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and active aging. Our patients span from recreational to professional levels of fitness, so experience with a diverse population is preferred .
This per diem position is in specialty area of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. The ideal candidate has prior work experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and providing post-operative care. Preferred candidate would have ability to cover potential staff leaves of absences and/or assist the team in growing the program across multiple clinic locations.
Responsibilities:

Selects and performs appropriate Physical Therapy (PT) evaluation procedures to identify and assess problems. Sets treatment goals and devises a treatment plan. Re-evaluates and adjusts the PT treatment plan in response to the patient's changing condition and discharge plans.

Manages resources needed to perform PT treatment plan to accomplish goals set for the patient.

Completes PT documentation in the medical record per department guidelines and completes department records for billing and statistics.

Manages PT caseload with efficiency and efficacy.

Provides clinical supervision and teaching for PT students or staff. Plans orientation, caseload, and other learning activities. Provides regular feedback and coaching. Evaluates the learner's performance.

Plans and coordinates clinical programs in response to patient needs, technologies, clinical practices, regulations and reimbursement. Provides regular communication with physicians, supervisor, and others regarding PT programs and patients served.

- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
