Job Duties

The role - what you'll do

Barr is seeking a recruiter to join our Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will partner closely with a senior recruiter, hiring managers, and HR colleagues to support a wide range of hiring needs for one of Barr's business units. You will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for technical talent, with a primary focus on engineering and science-related positions, from proactive candidate sourcing and pipeline development through offer acceptance. In this role, you will spend significant time identifying and engaging talent, building relationships with prospective candidates, and developing strong candidate pipelines to meet current and future hiring needs. You will help hiring teams navigate the selection process, contribute to a positive and consistent candidate experience, and support Barr's strategic growth while developing recruiting expertise and taking on increasing responsibility over time.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn and brings strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. They are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with the senior recruiter and business unit HR team. This individual is motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating professionalism, curiosity, and alignment with Barr's core values.

Your impact - key responsibilities

Recruitment activities: Support the full recruiting cycle, including preparing and posting jobs, leading intake meetings, reviewing resumes, proactively sourcing candidates, conducting initial candidate screens, supporting interviews, and assisting with recruiting strategies for various hard-to-fill positions. Serve as a positive representative of Barr and foster a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Selection and hiring coordination: Facilitate pre- and post-interview meetings with hiring teams, coordinate with stakeholders throughout the process, and support offer development and delivery in partnership with the senior recruiter and business unit HR team.

Stakeholder collaboration: Build relationships with hiring teams and conduct regular follow-ups to assess current candidates, hiring needs, and the effectiveness of recruiting efforts. Collaborate with the senior recruiter, business unit stakeholders, and the business unit HR team and participate in staffing and business meetings to learn about the business and share recruiting best practices.

Process improvement: Support tracking recruitment metrics and analyzing recruiting data to identify opportunities to improve hiring outcomes. Stay current with recruiting trends and practices and participate in recruiting-related process improvements and special projects.

About the opportunity

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, offices.

About you - required core competencies

Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience

Experience: Two plus years of recruiting experience

Software: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

Communication: Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Helpful additional experience (not required)

Experience recruiting for engineering, science, or technical roles

Experience with sourcing and networking techniques, including recruiting on social platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter

Experience using Workday

Compensation: Anticipated range of $58,000-$71,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
