🚀 Fund Accountant | $115K–$130K + Bonus + Carry

📍 Menlo Park | Hybrid

This is not your typical fund accounting role.

I'm working on a confidential opportunity with a top-performing early-stage venture capital firm managing over $2 billion in assets and investing in the next generation of AI, infrastructure, and enterprise technology companies.

They're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join a lean finance team, work directly with the Controller and CFO, and grow alongside an ambitious investment platform.

The leadership team is approachable, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in developing the next person who joins.

💡 What You'll Do

• Support quarterly fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment valuation schedules

• Prepare workpapers for investment purchases, sales, and other fund transactions

• Coordinate capital calls, distributions, management fees, and fund expenses

• Work with the Controller, CFO, and external fund administrator on reporting and operations

• Support audits, tax reporting, investor K-1s, and investor inquiries

• Contribute to new fund launches, process improvements, and special projects

• Explore AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to improve workflows and efficiency

Requirements

Who They're Looking For

• 2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in VC, private equity, alternative investments, or public accounting

• A strong foundation in accounting, Excel, and financial reporting

• Exposure to partnership accounting, capital calls, distributions, or fund administrators is a plus

• Detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and committed to producing accurate work

• Curious about venture capital, AI, technology, and automation

• Someone who takes ownership, communicates well, and thrives in a small, collaborative team
