City/State Virginia Beach, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara Independence, in Virginia Beach, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join the Sleep Center!

Hours/Shift: Full-time, dayshift. Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

Department/Position Overview: A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care. Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration and order transmission. Purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.

Requirements: Education

  • High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)

Experience

  • Previous healthcare experience (Required)
  • Two of the following skill levels are strongly preferred:• Two years’ experience in a healthcare environment
  • Completion of a healthcare related certificate program
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.88 - $31.68 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
