Summary

Imagine what you could do here! The people here at Apple don’t just create products — they build the kind of wonder that’s revolutionized entire industries. It’s the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. At Apple, inclusion is a shared responsibility, and we work together to foster a culture where everyone belongs and is inspired to do their best work.

Here on the Apple Store Online team, we are responsible for Apple’s largest store. Our main goal is to deliver a magical, personal digital experience where customers can shop, buy and learn everything Apple, wherever they are. Each customer should feel like they are our only customer and our job is to set the bar for the experience they receive. To run such an extraordinary store, it takes extraordinary people, and we are looking for someone to help us do extraordinary things.

The Apple Store Online Operations team is seeking a Business Insights Analyst to join our Workforce Strategy & Analytics (WSA) group — a role at the intersection of business curiosity, analytical rigor, and technical execution. In this role, you will play a key part in how Apple's largest store understands and improves its performance — building the metrics, analyses, and data solutions that help operational teams make better decisions every day. You are someone who is energized by turning complex data into clear answers, who takes pride in the quality and reliability of your work, and who is eager to grow their craft in a high-impact environment. If you believe great analytics starts with understanding the business first, this role was built for you.

Description

In this role, you will play a key role in the analytical foundation of ASO Operations — supporting business partners in understanding performance challenges, contributing to metrics frameworks that drive accountability, and translating data into clear, actionable insights. You will work alongside experienced analytics and data engineering teammates to develop and maintain the KPIs, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that keep operational teams aligned and informed. Your work will connect day-to-day data to real business outcomes — and every analysis you deliver will be in direct service of helping Apple's largest store perform at its best.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations, engineering, information systems, or a related field

  • 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in analytics, business planning, or a strategy & operations role with demonstrated impact.

  • Strong business acumen and quantitative depth — able to connect data to operational outcomes through structured problem solving, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis, while translating findings into clear narratives that drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Experience contributing to KPI and metrics development — including engaging business partners to understand operational needs, document definitions, validate calculation logic, and translate requirements into analytical solutions that support data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong SQL proficiency and working experience with Python or equivalent scripting for data analysis and manipulation — paired with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to take initiative, build trust, and develop strong working relationships across teams — comfortable navigating a matrixed organization and contributing to shared goals without direct authority.

  • Demonstrated ability to approach ambiguous problems with curiosity and structure — breaking down complex challenges into clear analytical questions and delivering well-reasoned, actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with KPI and performance management frameworks such as OKRs or operational scorecards, and an interest in how data infrastructure supports tracking and accountability at scale.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, and an interest in how AI tools and techniques — including anomaly detection, forecasting, or natural language querying — can enhance analytics workflows and accelerate decision-making.

  • Background in workforce analytics, digital operations, or retail operations — with an understanding of how staffing, volume, efficiency, and customer experience metrics work together to shape business performance.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously — maintaining attention to detail and clear communication even as priorities shift in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or equivalent platforms — with an interest in designing dashboards and reporting solutions that make data accessible and actionable for a broad audience.

Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. We seek to promote equal opportunity for all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, Veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
