Job Summary This position will provide technical support on our weekend production crew. Required to work weekend shift (Friday-Sunday). Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments | Responsibilities are within the Engineering Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Impact of the Role General Profile - Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes - Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise - Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods - Works with a moderate degree of supervision - Performs manual tasks according to established procedures Essential Functions - Assists engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test products and processes. - Supports with technical tasks and project support. - Sets up equipment and monitors tests and experiments. - Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement. - Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports. - Performs extensive research and development during creation phase of product. - Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting equipment during design phase. Required Qualifications - Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Required Qualifications - Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Preferred Qualifications - Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree - Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred - Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to understand and follow directions. Design expertise. Mathematical skills. Engineering Support. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time.<
