Business Analyst

Description We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a Contract assignment based in San Fernando, California. In this approximately three-month engagement, you will partner closely with company leadership to evaluate available business data, strengthen reporting capabilities, and turn raw information into practical performance insights. This role is ideal for someone who combines financial and operational perspective with strong hands-on experience in analysis, dashboard development, and management reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Review data available across the company’s business systems and current reporting tools to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for better decision support.

• Design and build dependable reports and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into sales results, margin performance, backlog status, inventory position, and operational outcomes.

• Define meaningful key performance indicators that align with business goals and document calculation logic so reporting remains consistent and transparent.

• Validate data accuracy by reconciling outputs, investigating reporting discrepancies, and establishing repeatable methods for ongoing measurement.

• Translate financial and operational findings into actionable recommendations that support decision-making for owners and management.

• Work with existing Power BI assets and related data sources to improve usability, clarity, and relevance of reporting deliverables.

• Prepare reporting documentation, metric definitions, and process guidance to support long-term adoption by internal stakeholders.

• Provide knowledge transfer and training to team members so they can maintain and use reports effectively after the engagement ends. Requirements • Proven experience in business analysis, business intelligence, or finance and operations reporting roles.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modeling, and report refinement.

• Advanced data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends, validate information, and present clear business insights.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliation, and supporting reporting activities.

• Demonstrated ability to work directly with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into practical reporting solutions.

• Background in distribution, light manufacturing, or assembly environments is strongly preferred.

• Ability to document reporting logic, define metrics clearly, and support handover to an internal team.
