Full job description
Description We are looking for a part time, experienced Commercial Attorney to support a high-volume portfolio of business agreements in Schaumburg, Illinois. This Contract position will partner closely with procurement and sales stakeholders, providing practical legal guidance that helps the business move forward while managing risk. The role is well suited for an attorney who is comfortable handling commercial contract matters independently and can also contribute on select employment-related issues as needed.
Responsibilities: • Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements that support day-to-day business operations and customer relationships. • Advise procurement and sales teams on contract terms, risk exposure, and legal considerations tied to supplier and commercial transactions. • Prepare and revise key documents such as sales contracts, purchasing agreements, vendor terms, purchase orders, logistics arrangements, master sales agreements, and distribution contracts. • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve contractual issues, clarify obligations, and support timely completion of business deals. • Provide legal input on occasional human resources matters, escalating complex issues when appropriate. • Identify areas of legal or commercial risk within proposed agreements and recommend practical solutions aligned with business objectives. • Support contract-related process improvements and help maintain consistency in legal documentation and negotiation approaches. • Work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to manage priorities, deadlines, and agreement turnaround expectations.
The pay range for this position is 50 to 60. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. At least 5 years of experience handling commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor and business agreements.

Strong background supporting contract work for business functions such as sales, procurement, or related operational teams.

Knowledge of agreement structures involving purchasing, sales, distribution, logistics, and supplier relationships.

Experience with litigation-related activities such as motions, briefing, or discovery is valued.

Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and provide practical guidance to non-legal business partners.

Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a contract-driven environment.
