Evaluate metallic and composite aircraft structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue life, buckling, damage tolerance, and durability requirements. Develop and maintain FEM models using tools such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar analysis platforms. Analyze aircraft loads and load paths to ensure structural integrity across various operating conditions. Generate stress reports and engineering documentation to support design reviews, testing, manufacturing, and certification activities. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, systems, integration, and flight test teams to resolve structural issues and improve product performance. Support prototype builds and manufacturing activities by investigating structural concerns, failures, or non-conformances. Conduct trade studies to optimize aircraft structures for weight, manufacturability, performance, and reliability. Participate in technical reviews and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and safety standards.
